Sometimes you are literally born into your career, but in the case of our Events Coordinator Jennifer Juenemann, it took some years of world travel before she returned to her New England and restaurant roots.
Raised in Maine to a family of restaurateurs, Jennifer was immersed in the business from an early age. While attending University of Colorado at Boulder, she rekindled this life by becoming youngest General Manager of Antica Roma during her four years of study. The owners so valued her ease with customers and her attentiveness to details that they expanded her role to help manage the openings of two more well known trattoria: Pane e Vino and Acqua Pazza.
With her diploma in Sociology in hand, Jennifer set out on a global path: first to New Zealand where she landed a job at a famous beach café, and then for Australia and another famous destination restaurant. Her passport stamps also include Madrid where she taught English as a second language to inner city youth before returning stateside to the familiar coastline of her upbringing. Naturally, another restaurant beckoned, this time at the Inn by the Sea at Cape Elizabeth, a perennial favorite of Condé Nast Traveler.
It was her quest for work at a place with less seasonal swings that ultimately brought Jennifer to The Quarry, first as a server and now as our lead Event Coordinator and customer liaison. From bereavement receptions to corporate off-sites to celebrations, Jennifer combines her Yankee budget sensibilities and wine acumen acquired during her travels to fastidious event planning. She’s only too happy to share her fluency in Spanish, her wine knowledge, or both.
